BLOOD DOLLS tries to simultaneously spoof horror movies about killer toys and DALLAS-style soap operas. It doesn't work, but I don't blame co-writer/director Charles Band for not finding the balance. It's very hard to parody 2 very different genres. I do blame him in the sense that, if he had only chosen 1 of them, the movie still would've failed. The dark humour is as funny as the idea of Rosie O'Donnell playing SHIRLEY TEMPLE in a biopic. What? She might. She already played BETTY RUBBLE; we don't know what she's capable of. The acting is very weak and the soundtrack sucks, but at least the ending makes the viewer think.
