I thought it was a dream

I remember watching this show as a 4-year old. Later on, when I was a teenager and grown-up, I used to ask my friends if they remembered this show. No one did! They all thought I was crazy!
But I distinctly remembered a show about a girl and her magic horse. And I remember the theme song! I'm so glad I found this site!
Man, TV in the 80s was the best... My little pony, Jem, Rainbow Brite, She-Ra

Nobody I know has ever heard of it either (they've told me I was crazy, too). I wonder if it will ever be possible to find. I used to wake up so early on saturdays to catch this show.

I'm glad other people remember this show. I used to get up a 6:00AM on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons (Can you imagine getting up at 6:00AM on a Saturday on purpose nowadays???!!). I remember I thought the opening credits were sad, with the baby's mother dying, but it was a good show.

Does anyone remember the lyrics to the song? All I remember is "Once upon a dream..."

You can watch the opening here:

Here's the lyrics they have listed:

Once upon a dream
I think I lived inside a fairy tale
Where someone brave was lost
And some dark void was crossed
And I was tossed in my sleep
And did I meet a magic horse
called Wildfire, or was that the dream?
(Wildfire, Wildfire)
Deep within my mind
Tell me what I'll find, or what I might become
If I could go where the dreams come from
If I could go where the dreams come from
(Wildfire, Wildfire, Wildfire)

Ditto, I used to get up at 6 AM too to watch this show- I remember it used to come right before Berensetin Bears, which I believe was on CBS at the time.

Yup, Saturday, 6 AM, Wildfire, and a bowl of Honeycomb. Those were the days!

I thought I was the only one. And it didn't help that the plot was really too intricate to try and explain to those who had never seen it. I actually had a boyfriend tell me once that I must have been alone a lot as a kid to be able to make something like that up (which I wasn't and such a statement contributed heavily to his ex status).
The I found an old video that I had recorded Wildfire on, I used to record Sat morn toons to watch with my dad when he was off work on sundays, but the tape was pretty shot.
