Wasn’t Benson really pretty in the first season?

I was familiar with this show’s later seasons, in the mid-2000s.
But I recently began watching season 1 on HULU. I’m surprised that Benson is so attractive when she was younger. She was much slimmer. In the later seasons, she got thicker and older

The bigger issue might be the hairstyle. In season 1, she had this chin length-ish hair. Then in seasons 2 and 3, she kept going shorter. Women always look better with long hair

I tend to agree, but I also feel women should look however they choose to and we can appreciate them still. Short hair is SO MUCH easier to deal with.

I'd say she changed a lot less than many other people do over the years. Stabler also looks the same.
Neither one was going to win beauty awards since day 1, btw.

Stabler’s appearance may not have been handsome, but he did look tough and badass. That was the feature his role required

it has been 22 years since the first season so logically she got old and put on some weight , and yeah i also feel her skin is a bit darker.

Stabler hasn't changed that much in comparison , for sure the actor works out a lot and is careful of his diet

I think the only time she looked decent was on Seinfeld when they were casting Elaine.
