Why does this show always make things about race?

I am so tired of this kneejerk racism stuff in these shows. In this most recent episode, Detectives Tutuola and Perry tell some parents that their son has died because he was killed while raping a woman. When the parents find out the killer was white, it instantly becomes a race issue. "Oh I see... white kid shoots black kid, gotta be the black kid's fault, that's what you sayin?"

Stop doing this stuff, SVU. Why do you have to focus on race? A kid thought his mom was being raped, it's not about race. Your show is about sex crimes, don't shoehorn all this racial *beep* If a person was raped, that means that a crime was committed, and race has nothing to do with anything. A black person raping someone is the exact same as a white person raping someone... there is no need to make a race issue out of it.

And a quote straight from the show:

Benson: "She said she didn't mind her son being friends with Trey, but she had a bad feeling about him from the beginning, whatever that means."

Barba: "Because he's black?"

Why the hell would Barba ask that question? Why would he immediately assume the kid's race had anything to do with why the woman had a bad feeling about him?

This is supposed to be a show about sex crimes and the detectives and prosecutors that bring the guilty to justice... stop making this *beep* about race when it doesn't need to be.

I have no enemies, but am intensely disliked by my friends.

Wow, so you talk about pulling the race card yet your entire post is some whiny, inaccurate bitchfest pulling your own race card. Congratulations, you're an idiot.

reply

Uhhhh, how is he pulling the race card...? His post is complaining about these Dick Wolf shows using race more and more in episodes. SVU has been pulling it constantly Chicago PD, Fire, etc. Yes, it IS getting annoying and it's always "wahhh, he's white and I'm black and that's why ___ happened!"

So stop with your insulting BS. It's people like you that IMDB is pulling the message boards. Can't even bring up a point or have a rational discussion without some tard name calling and starting a problem.

reply

What's getting annoying is members blaming other members for IMDB dropping the message board feature--as if their decision wasn't solely a financial one, but moreover a reaction to some loser named Mangajunkie420's trolling.

Chicago PD is getting unbearable, it's ridiculous.

My ass may be dumb, but I ain't no dumbass...

You beat me to it, as soon as the father said that I said, "Ugh, really?" It annoys me when this happens in TV and real life, every time anything bad happens to a black person, they always pull the race card. I'm glad Fin was there to tell them it had nothing to do with race, cause if it had been Liv, that would have made it worse.

reply

Because race-baiting is HUGE in the U.S. right now, and it's a huge part of what contemporary liberalism is. It's just pure identity politics and probably was what in part got Trump his surprise win. People are getting sick of it.

reply

I'm not American but I'm guessing the race card is played a lot in real life.
