Television for Toddlers?

This isn't necessarily confined to Franklin...but seriously people. If your kid is under 2 years old...(3 in my opinion)...they shouldn't be watching television at all! Just ask the APA. Your kid's minds are going to turn to mush.

In your opinion, some of these shows are great for kids.

I think these shows are perfect for kids. They need these shows to get ready for school. They can learn about colors and shapes and stuff.

That's nice. I don't entirely disagree with you. But a 5-10 minute session while I, you know, use the bathroom or make his lunch...

It's up to parents to do the parenting, not strangers online.

Is better then watching paint dry.

Amen to that! I don't need some goofy, bored soccer mom telling me what children should or in this case shouldn't watch.

I think the original poster's mind turned to mush a long time ago!

Of course too much of many things is not a good idea, but there is a time and a place for TV for kids IMO. Hey, it is a very rainy day here and I am thankful for a little "Franklin" for my 3 yr old! get over yourselves. Who is a perfect parent anyway??? We read books several times a day, go to the park when its nice out, engage in imaginary play together and he does it alone too, we play hide and seek and other games, but there comes a time when the boredom/tiredness sets in and a little TV time is just what the doctor ordered for both mom and child! We don't overdo it, but I am just being honest here. Plus it helps my child fall asleep for naptime. to each their own.

Well, by "toddlers" I think they mean 3-4 year olds, and that under age 2 they are still considered "infants" even if they begin to "toddle" around cruising and walking. That's the age group this and similar shows are targeted to, not the under 2 set.

Infants are under 1.

Toddlers are 2-3.
