Buxton in series 8

Been having a Bad Girls marathon lately, and I've just started Season 8 and one thing has kind of annoyed me.
At the end of S7, Natalie is outed as a nonce and everyone is fuming and hating on her, and her reputation is ruined. Then in the Xmas special, they're still kinda fuming and she gets the mick taken out of her. But then we get to the beginning of season 8 and she's back to being top dog, everyone's scared of her again, and nobody bothers to go against her, despite what happened at the end of season 7.
It just annoys me that EVERYONE seemed to forget that she was an evil nonce bitch, and didn't deserve to be top dog.

Didn't they forget a lot of things for season 8, I'm sure I can remember unfinished storylines and disapearing characters like the two women one prisoner one guard who were protesting on top of a monument.

Selena and Kris (the two women who were protesting) disappeared at the end of series 6, and were absent from season 7.

But yes, there was a lot of unexplained stuff with regards to season 8.
Di Fenner, Arun Palmer & Kevin Spiers all disappeared without a trace and were never even mentioned. And Sheena Williams was gone, but it was (sort of) explained why she was gone.
I could understand the Natalie thing if she was using her physical strength to hassle the inmates, but it was well known that Pat could kick the $hit out of her, so I don't understand how she went back to being Top Dog and having all the inmates once again be afraid of her.

No I agree I never got it either just seemed like they knew it was coming to an end so couldn't be bothered to create a new mean character. The fact they left storylines half finished is what ruined it for me went more and more down hill once Niki and Helen left.

Natalie wasn't top dog at the start of Series Eight, Pat was. I got the impression that the other inmates were just tolerating her presence because she wasn't going to be going anywhere for a long time. Her new bruiser sidekick Ashley wasn't around when the incriminating tape was played in the last series.

series 8 lacked a lot of continuity, but Pat was still top dog (though not clearly shown) and Natalie was an envious baddie.

I think what was irritating about Natalie is that it didn't make sense how she was top dog in the first place.

First, it became obviously quickly that her claiming she was innocent was rubbish and she really was a 'nonce'. But this was then forgotten by all the women who had been baying for her blood not long before.

Second, she was top dog because they were scared of her because she beat up Cake.....so what? No matter how well she fights one on one, that's not going to help against a whole bunch of other girls if they stick together against her, so that's not even a very good hold either.

Atkins was top dog because she had charisma and influence, and if she really needed to teach someone a lesson, she could do it subtly without getting her hands dirty. Buxton had none of those things....apparently, we're supposed to believe one little blonde can become top dog just because she can beat one person up at a time....in a group full of loads of women ???

(Still love the show LOL Just didn't like the Buxton storyline/character)

Natalie wasn't top dog in series 8 but she always would've been a threat to Pat. The thing with Natalie is she's incredibly manipulative, she can make anyone believe anything. Pat may win fights with Natalie but she wins by a whisker the fight they had in series 7 Natalie was the one who kicked the *beep* out of Pat it's only because she got too cocky at the end that Pat was able to beat her. She's dangerous and just plain nasty so I think we were to assume that people just gave her a wide birth. I do take your point with they could have just all ganged up and beat/killed her together. If you think about the Snowball situation, loads of the inmates were willing to kill her and she had to be segregated otherwise they would have. Compared to Natalie, her crime was nothing so you would have thought they would be so much worse with Natalie considering a lot of them have children themselves. The one thing I am on the fence with is we never really got any explanation as to why Natalie is why she is, I like to believe that she was a victim of abuse herself and that's why she's so evil. I don't know if we could have seen a little more of a hint of this or whether I actually prefer no explanation. Maybe they wanted to encourage debates and thoughts on if people can really be 'born evil'.
