Bad Girls vs Prisoner: Cell Block H

Which do you guys prefer best, Bad Girls or PCBH? as much as I like Prisoner, I have to say that I love Bad Girls a lot better. Prisoner was much more over dramatic, it couldn't be taken to seriously for most parts. But Bad Girls was more realistic, all the fight scenes were believable and the characters were real. also the sets didn't wobble :P

I'm actually surprised that there wasn't even one reference to Prisoner on Bad Girls. I don't know how many times I would have loved to have heard a prisoner say that Jim Fenner was as bad as Joan Ferguson.

I'd say periods of both loved Bad Girls for the first few seasons but for me once Nicci left it went down hill and was terrible all together once Yuvone left. AS for Prisoner it had some bad spells but the Rita years were great I couldn't pick a favourite between the two.

Bad Girls was much better.

But, yes after Nikki and Helen left - they show started showing signs of cracking. After Yvonne was killed and Denny left that was it.

S1-3 was the sh&t.

I know that Bad Girls was directyl taken off PCBH, but I just can't compare them.

Because of the time they were both released, they suited the that time.

I don't know how you can say that Bad Girls was more "realistic". All the smuggling in, the extremely bad security.

The main difference between BG and PCBH was that PCBH did focus on the serious real drama of the time. It wasn't all about the prision fights and politics. It was just as much as the women's personal life. And it didn't stop when they were in prison. They had huge dramatic story lines in general life, like Colleen's daughter getting kidnapped. Joan and Shane. Joan and her girlfriend in the later years. Anne and her breast cancer. Meg and all her comings and goings.

I have watched PCBH over and over. I've watched Bad Girls about 3 times and no longer interested.

And that's exactly why I love CBH, because of the story lines. Yeah, they had their share of bashings, especially when Mari Winters entered the scene on up, but they still stuck to the story lines and building of characters. This is what I think is lacking in Wentworth (the new series), yet, I enjoy the show just the same.

In CBH, the S3, the Kate Peterson era was great because it had other great stories in there as well.

I'm currently watching CBH on YouTube and am hooked. First time offender, soon to be a repeat offender once I'm done with this go round.
