Kenneth (the writer/director) is a very well respected playwright in NY City, and his wife (who plays the other band worker with the crazy colors on her computer) is a respected improv actress in NY, so you can imagine that, together, they have a very interesting circle of friends... and evidently they are both very laid back and generally good people, because those people that god special thanks for the movie are close friends of he and his wife that really supported him and encourage him in his writing, making the transition to making a movie, and this story in general. They are just all part of the same circle of friends that support each others work. Which is nice to hear about… that it exists really. Kenneth talks about it in his directors commentary on the DVD. The commentary is really good.

Oh, I forgot to mention before... but Kenneth and Laura Linney are old theatre friends from when they were starting out and have worked very closely together. he wrote this film specifically for her and Mark Ruffalo. Also, Kenneth's wife was in How to Succeed in Business on Broadway with Matthew Brodrick, (or it was the Producers... but I'm pretty sure it was How to Succeed) and that is how they got to know him... while writing the movie, he started pictureing Matthew in the part and started writing the character for him.
