Laura Linney's performance should of won her an Oscar

Who thought Laura Linney was flawless in her role? I thought she quite incredible! She said her lines perfectly and she was fantastic. When I saw she only got "nominated" I wanted to see who won the Oscar for Best Actress that year, and I was surprised it was Julia Roberts who won it for Erin Brockovich. I think Robert's performance was all right - she shouted a lot, swore a lot, and wore a push-up bra, but she wasn't nearly as perfect as Laura Linney in You Can Count On Me. But Laura Linney has always been an underrated actress.

What do you guys think?

Yes, she was incredible. I think she played the part of an ordinary single mom and a sister in an extra-ordinary way. Julia had the benefit of a very well -written role. 'Erin Brockovich' was her best but I doubt she would have been as effective as Linney if she were given her role.

I totally agree. she was the best thing in 'The Life of David Gale' a movie which co-starred Kevin Spacey and Kate Winslet.

I loved Laura Linney's performace in this. Ellen Burstyn should have definitely won for "Requiem for a Dream". I put Linney and Burstyn almost neck in neck for their performaces. I also loved this movie. Very underappreciated.

Both Linney and Burstyn were great although my overall pick for the year would have been Gillian Anderson for her devastating performance in The House of Mirth.

Ruffalo would have been my Best Actor winner for the year. I think he is superb, his best performance to date in fact.
