Ray in Pilgrim works

This movie is excellent. The movies grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let go. I thought Ray's charater was quite interesting and is involved in so much mystery! The plot was a bit confusing, but in the end, it works.
I think anyone who's a Ray fan should see "Pilgrim".
Question: How exactly did Ray's character end up in Mexico? and in the middle of the desert?

I didn't like this movie, as it did grab me from the beginning but, unfortunately, did let go when the plot went south during the plan at the end.

That said, Ray's character, Jack, ended up in Mexico because that's where his ex-girl, Heidi was living. She was married to that guy who could change Jack's identity and effectively set him free of his previous life. She introduced them and they hit it off. But, unfortunately for Jack, that guy got suspicious and confronted Heidi about how she new Jack and she told him that they were in a passionate relationship in the past. Out of Jealousy, dude set Jack up by telling his old bank robbing partners where he was. This was after he completed what he's set out to do, which was get Jack a new birth certificate, passport, drivers license, and through those credentials, a new life.

He ended up in the desert because that dude (sorry I can't remember his name) told Jack's old partners where he would be (that phone booth). They ran it over and caught him, but as they were transporting him, he fought them off and jumped out the car off that bridge. During that fall is when he hit his head.

Experience, though quite valuable, is something you only get just after you really need it.

First I watch "Phoenix" , and then I start watching this movie and I was
"What the hell, the movie start exactly like "Phoenix" end." "Phoenix" end like Ray Liotta drives his car and going collapse and his car going out of the way in the desert, then the movie ends. This movie begin exactly where "Phoenix" left off. Well of course the movie is different story, different character and everything but if you watch back to back you will be little confused.
