why were so many De Niro scenes Cut?

I just watched the deleted scenes from this movie, and i was more than appauled to see how much of De Niro was cut from this movie. He was the best part of film. Cuba Gooding sux!!! With De Niro, this movie would have been boring as hell! The director must be mad man. Here he has the GREATEST actor of all time, De Niro, next to one of the worst, Gooding. And who's scenes does he cut more? De Niro!!!! I mean seriosuly. Extreme disrespect to De Niro!

PS: I will say i liked Gooding in Snow Dogs. And little bit in Jerry Maguire.

I've read elsewhere that the DeNiro scenes were cut to keep the emphasis on Brashear, not Sunday.

Odd thing that occurs to me just now - the movie poster has both DeNiro and Gooding's faces but Gooding/Brashear, who is supposed to be the subject of the film, is in the back.

You have to understand that they have to have both faces on the movie poster because if they do not then how is the movie going to sell? By showing both Cuba Gooding Jr. and Robert Deniro the movie will sell because those of us who are fans of Robert DeNiro is going to love to see the movie or want to go see it. I hope that explains it to you.

Just because he's made a lot of great films in the seventies and eighties doesn't make it okay to Churn out crap movie after crap movie, he should be ashamed of himself, why don't you watch meet the fockers and tell me I'm wrong.

Umm, yes it does! He has nothing left to prove forever, and you may want to add the 90's in there, for sure, and even a few after that. I see what you are saying too, for sure, but if He thinks it's ok, then it is. He has done far and above, long ago!!

I love watching him in the prequels to Meet The Parents. The third film was ok but it was not the best to be honest with you about it.

De Niro is a great actor! He has done a lot of films that I enjoy watching.

De Niro did a fantastic job in playing a old salty in the film Men Of Honor. The reason why I say that is because I was in the Navy 20 years ago and the old school ways was still around where as now it is pretty much gone due to "Politically Correctness" destroying some of the Navy's great traditions. I am a Test Administrator for MEPS and I tell all of the applicants that I am from the old school Navy. I do not come from the new school military where I will take you to the side and say, "It is all right that you screwed up." and then give this sailor or applicant a hug for it. Sorry I prefer the old ways of doing things because I spent 2 years up at Great Lakes and I did not see the recruits do half of the things that I did because now they baby them.

Cuba Gooding is a very good actor when he selects the right film projects to do though. There are some films that he should have taken a step back and say, "Thank you for the offer, but I am not interested in doing this film though." I liked that he did Snow Dogs, but the other work that he has done was not very good to be honest with you about it.

I definitely have to agree with you there that Gooding is a very good actor especially in the film Boyz N The Hood.

Well Gooding it helped out his career because the last several films that he has done with the exception of Snow Dogs which I did enjoy watching has flopped in the box office. This includes the sequel to Daddy Day Camp which was done by Eddie Murphy originally.
