Location question

In episode 1, when the search party is sent out to search for 3-year-old Rachel and Theo, there's a scene where a helicopter flies overhead and switches to a shot from the pilot's POV. He's flying over green fields, bottom-right we see smoke rising from the ground, and in the background, a tall, snow-covered mountain, possibly a volcano. Was wondering if anyone could tell me where this was. Somewhere not far from Auckland, I'm guessing.
