Unpopular and attractive

I get that the people making TV-shows cast good looking actors to attract more viewers but isn't it annoying that the unpopular people in TV-shows in reality most likely would be the popular ones due to their good looks? It's unrealistic. Just look at Sam. She surely doesn't look like the kids who were unpopular when I was in high school. Actually, she looks like a model. The kids who were unpopular when I was a teen looked nothing like models.

I dunno, i think u can be both unpopular and attractive, i just think you cant be a total reject and good looking. Sam and her friends r more alternative than "losers".

Have to remember that not only do the producers want their audience to identify with the characters, they also have to deal with allowing the audience to want to identify with them as well. You don't see fashion catalogs for fat people with fat ugly models either. When we watch fiction, we want something other than reality. We have reality every day.
