Sam's ulterior motives

I have started to rewatch this series. I'm only on S1E03. I really do not know what Sam's issues are. I think Brooke is very kind and nice when she lets her guard down - and she even makes attempts to make peace as much as possible. Brooke is never really after Sam; Brooke only acts means when Sam provokes her.

Sam, on the other hand, is selfish, egocentric, and thinks herself as unique (there's lots of "unique" people dressing around like Sam). She has a personal crusade against Brooke, and will do anything to bring her down though Brooke has really not done her any real harm.

I'll keep watching. I really enjoyed this show when it came out, though at the time I was in Belgium and watching re-runs by 2001-2002. I'm glad for Youtube! I never watched more than 5 or 6 episodes I think.

Although I always found certain traits in her admirable, it did take a little time for Sam to really grow on me. I agree with you in the depiction of her in the early season one episodes, I didn't feel like Brooke ever did anything to really incite Sam's resentment towards her.

Nope. Brook is really the selfish and self serving one. The worst part about Brooke is she is so fake, very nice nasty, and she rarely gets called out where as Sam stayed getting called out. Brooke was the most frustrating character by far IMO.

you are not a beautiful and unique snowflake.

"Brooke is never really after Sam; Brooke only acts means when Sam provokes her." – THIS!

Brooke was never really, really evil. Nicole was behind all the bad stuff around Brooke.

On second two, Sam becomes much better (despite all the horrible make up she uses).

I know!

Brooke is sweet and tries to be nice to Sam so many times. Sam is the one who hates Brooke and Brooke usually tries to defend herself.

I wonder why Sam never went after Nicole?
