I am in the process of writing a treatment for a fourth Chocky installment. Providing enough interest is shown and permission can be obtained from the relevent people, it may be possible to get this off the ground.

I am also interested in getting some of the original cast back for some Cameos, especially Andrew Ellams and Annabel Worrell.

The plot revolves around the technology from Chocky's world being utilised in the current day for defense, and Chocky returning to act as a mediator for peace. It will also tackle climate change and environmental issues.

Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

I would be very much in favour of that.
I never actually watched the series when it first came out, but I bought the video from HMV a few years ago. It caught my eye simply cos it was a kids' drama from the 80s and I am really into 80s stuff. Then I got the next 2 sequels and liked them as well.

I'm also really interested (hopefully not in a nosey way) in actors/actresses from programmes/films I like, and what struck me about "Chocky" was that it involved decent characters and was wholesome as well as interesting.
The little I know about Andrew Ellams suggests he has turned into a decent person, and I always find it refreshing when I hear of people like that who haven't turned into spoiled brats and endorsed a celebrity lifestyle.

I also think your idea is interesting. I only spotted your post just now, so hope you haven't given up after all this time and have read my reply!

Yes the idea is still being bounced around. I need to speak to Christopher Hodson. He is the man who can help this idea come to fruition.

I am working on some other projects until the Autumn, so after that will start chasing this up and see if anything can be done.

hi i loved this program so much as a kid and own the 3 dvds cant wait to see a forth if it comes good luck on that but dont know have you would time slot it as the oldies would want to see it lol

ps if not may be a sequal to Box of Delights ??? would be nice for christmas

I doubt you could ever start as steven spielberg has the right to make a movie.

I know. Damn shame for me.

A series 4 would have been better in some ways. I was hoping to bring back some of the core cast and do a great ending and some enviromental messages.

Mr Speilberg you should contact me if you read this :p

Looks like you're a day late and a dollar short, but it's a good idea. Spielberg didn't get filthy rich by sitting on a good idea, he got the rights. He's probably going to crank out another ET.
By the way, if you wanted to hide a greenie message in your screenplay, I would advise against it. There's enough fiction in Chocky without adding AGW crap.
