similar movie , please help

Anybody can help me? i need the name of a similar movie to Chocky, maybe older than Chocky, a 70's or 80´s movie i guess, and probably a TV show chapter: it´s a sci -fi/ terror story about an alien who talks as imaginary friend with a kid by TV in his room, the alien only talks to kids through Tv (not to adults)and his purpose is try to come to earth to invade it, in a secuence of the movie a brother/friend discovers that the kid is talking with the alien (he already knows him from his childhood), and he advertises that the alien is a monster, but the alien abucts the young man, 2 men takes him to the other dimension.
Finally the monster can get in to the kid's home and shows his real face: a kind of weird electric skull.
