The music...

It scared the hell out of me. I listened to it today and that srceam at the start sent shivers up my spine. My brother and I used to watch it as kids and I'd have to leave the room until the music was over.

Scary scary scary!!!

The scream at the beginning always used to freak me out. THe music was great, I especially liked the dramatic piece used at the climax of Chocky's challenge.

Adrian: Why do you wanna fight?
Rocky: Because I can't sing or dance.

The scream at he start used to scare me to death too. I had to cover my ears at the start of each episode so I couldn't hear it. They must have had complaints, because they removed it from series three!

In fact the whole intro was weird. That kids head changing into a green sculpture and turning around to look at an empty field!!! Wonder what was going through their heads!!

I randomly discovered after a bit of net surfing that some of the eerie incidental music that is heard in Chocky also appeared on an old Ford Cortina advert from around the same time!

Well spotted my friend. That is right from the Chocky soundtrack.

Hi. Collectors of library music may know some of the Chocky music including the main theme was taken from the LP Astral Sounds ‎– Red Kite on the Rouge Music label (RMS/LP 142) see (https://www.discogs.com/Astral-Sounds-Red-Kite/release/1594828)

That is awesome.

Surprised to see this show come up in trending, was a childhood favourite of mine.

Good taste! Show rips. You've GOT to bump the good obscure stuff.

That Youtube link oiche posted is broken but there are a few other listenable tracks linked on the Discogs page.
Going to try to track down a copy of this LP for sure.

I don't know how that scream at the start even got past the conservative British media censors at the time:
