Nobody ever mentions THIS scene....
The scene where Romeo sees Morell's dark side for the first time when he comes to his flat after Morell had been rejected by Ladine. Morell is super crazy in this scene and quite unpredictably fightening. I thought he was gonna rape Romeo or something.
But yeah, Paddy just captures then mentality of the character perfectly in this scene. When Morrell is feeling low he resorts to all this army *beep* he reads about in his comic books and on TV. And have you lot noticed that his accent becomes more dramatic when Morrell is pissed off? Like he's trying to be American or something but comes across as a scottishman trying to do an american accent?
Oh, and it shows that Romeo isn't intimidated by Morrell so that's why Morrell resorts to slapping him around and headlocking him because Romeo didn't give a *beep* and shouted at him back. Top film from one of Britain's greatest directors.
