Quite ironic that Wahlberg doesn't even do the singing in the movie!

Val Kilmer sang in "The Doors", Joaquin Phoenix sang in "Walk the Line"... and yet bona fide pop star Mark Wahlberg doesn't sing in this!

reply

Yeah, he was as phony as his awful wig. I guess Marky Mark needed the Funky Bunch to back him up!

reply

Not really. Mark Wahlberg was a rapper. Rappers aren't known for thier ability to sing or they would be singers not rappers. Watch Boogie Nights and tell me if it's strange that he didn't sing on this movie. So no, it's not the opposite of what would expect (irony), it's exactly what one would expect.

reply

No it is ironic

reply

It's ironic that someone that isn't a singer didn't sing?

reply

Isn't it ironic?

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

If rappers could sing they would be singers and not rappers...? How did you come to that conclusion?

reply

I think the poster meant, 'they would be classed as singers, if they could sing'. Not that 'all rappers have a deep desire to be singers but lack the ability, therefore, became rappers'.

reply

He hasn't got the voice for this role.

reply

Funny you chose Jim Morrison and Johnny Cash since neither of them has particularly difficult voices to imitate.

The role Wahlberg played was of a rock star with a huge vocal range especially in those high registers. There's no way I'd expect him or any actor to just be able to sing like that.

reply

Not really, Izzy was meant to be a very talented singer, Marky Mark on the other hand just talks over music.

Sometimes a movie or tv show plot is so stupid that only the stupid can understand it.
