Quite Possibly the single worst film of all time

I can't even think of anything else to say. This film has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It's so bad, you can't even laugh at how bad it is. I am just speechless after seeing it. It never occured to me that a film could be so terrible.

My husband and I are watching it right now on "Fear Friday" on AMC, and we are just...it's...there are no words to describe the horrendousness of this film. Heinous, hideous, no-good, rotten, very bad film.

Nothing - I did absolutely nothing, and it was all I dreamed it could be.

Then why not change the channel?

reply

Hello gquijada,

I'm afraid I have not made myself clear here. I ADORE bad movies! They are like a hobby to me. My sisters and I grew up on bad movies, so we are always on the lookout for a truly special horrible movie. This one is right up there!

So, your point is understood and taken, and I would indeed change the channel if I weren't enjoying myself so much. Much more fun to watch a bad movie with friends or family, incidentally.

Ah! I think I've got it! (By George, I've got it!)
I have to agree that the movie didn't have much to recommend it. The saving grace was that it didn't take itself too seriously.

The main reason I watched it is that I noticed Nicholas Brendon and Garrett Wang in the cast and wanted to see them play someone other and Xander Harris and Ensign Kim.

By the way, you might also enjoy "Psycho Beach Party".

I find it another guilty pleasure. Enjoyable spoof stirring together the old 1960's "Beach Party" movies and the old "Slasher" movies. (If you have Netflix, it's worth the rental.) In addition to
Nicholas Brendon (from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") you'll find
Lauren Ambrose (from "Six Feet Under") as well as
Thomas Gibson (from "Dharma and Greg") and
Beth Broderick (from "Sabrina the Teenage Witch") and
David Chokachi (from "Baywatch").
This one, too, is strictly for the fun of it. If someone is looking for "The Tragicall Historie of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark", you'll not find it here.

Backward! Oh, backward, turn time in thy flight!
And it will be yesterday morning tonight.

THIS AIRS ON AMERICAN CLASSIC MOVIES REGULARLY, AS DOES "Dr. GIGGLES"!

"I've been living off toxic waste for years, and I'm fine! Just ask my other heads!"

Sorry to disagree. This movie is much farther down my list.

Well behind "Plan 9 from Outer Space" and "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes".

If you want a Horror/Thriller, go see Alfred Hitchcock or Tobe Hooper. Don't expect the same type of entertainment from "Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy". So far, all connected with the film are agreed that it was intended as a satire of the genre. For another horror-satire in the same vein — and also starring Nicholas Brendon, by the way — watch (or avoid) "Psycho Beach Party".

Your next assignment is to watch Monster A Go Go, then Manos: The Hands of Fate.

I will jump in here and bravely take on your assignment of Monster A Go Go, and especially Manos: The Hands of Fate!

Are they MST3K-worthy?

They are so MST3K worthy that they are actually episodes.

If you think this one is bad, I'd recommend you avoid anything by Ed Wood:
Plan 9 from Outer Space
Glen or Glenda
--etc.
also anything by Uwe Boll:
Bloodrayne
BloodRayne: Deliverance (would you believe a vampire Western?]
--etc.

Both directors are known for the emetic quality of their films.

reply

Ah, well. At least Ed Wood made his movies out of a love for the medium. Uwe Boll made his out of a love for himself. By several accounts I've seen, he (Boll) has even played the system Germany had in place to protect failed films, so long as they were made in Germany. It is an interesting case study in different "kinds" of terrible films. That I think is why I can watch (or at least think about) Ed Wood movies and at least smile a little, and I refuse to even think about Uwe Boll movies any more than strictly necessary.

I am watching a movie right now that is much worse than "Demon Island" aka "Pinata Survival Island". That would be "Robot Monster" from 1953. This turkey has a man in a gorilla suit, wearing a dive helmet with antennae stuck on it, as the titular character. The killer pinata in "Demon Island" looks much more professional by comparison. I have watched about 60% of the films on the Bottom 100, most have a thread the likes of "Wurst Moovie Evaaar!1!". And they are usually wrong. The worst movie I have seen so far is "Birdemic: Shock and Terror".
Watch it, you will miss your little pinata friend.

Sincerely, yahmez the mad.
