1 AD??

Surely any body of jesus would have to be from around 29 AD, the year he died. He didnt die when he was 8 year old.

Eh, 1 Century AD.

That means during the 1 century, and I do believe you understand what a century is?

reply

jesus was 33 when he was crucified. those 33 years are unacounted for in the calendar. BC was the time before christs' birth and AD is the time after his death. in turn, the 1st century AD would be correct.

reply

AD does not stand for "after death", it stands for "anno domini", "in the year of the Lord", meaning years after Jesus' birth.

reply

yeah and it is generally believed that Jesus' ministry was from 28AD to 30AD...Even if u dont think Jesus was the Christ we cannot deny that he was fairly 'active' during this period because other extra-biblical historians talk of it

reply

Yes. It's one of my pet peeves. People say that they don't believe in Jesus. I think it's pretty ignorant to not believe in Jesus, just as it's ignorant to not believe in Mohomad or Julius Caesar.

Belief in the person does not state belief in their divinity or status as a prophet.

Jesus existed. Some happen to believe he was 'just a guy' others believe he was the 'son of God'. That's up for argument - but if you state he doesn't exist... well... no point in the discussion.

I watched this movie last night - I think the actual line was "1 AD... plus or minus 80 years". So the actual range would be ABOUT 80 BC to AD 80. Later on they narrow it down to AD 32 by matching the light spectrum of the oil jar to something else known to be from that year.

reply

so they mean with the first 100yrs AD
IE: 0AD-100AD

That makes sense i guess. Still a ridiculous premise, as surely hundreds of people where crucified by the romans, body could be anyones.
