Greatest Tagline ever

We rented this movie from a Blockbuster a few years back. Blockbuster, for some reason, likes to create their own plot summaries on some of the movies. Well, the one they did for this movie was so bad I had to rent it to see if the movie was as bad as the tagline....

"They thought he was dead when the executed him....They were dead wrong!"

How could Blockbuster let that one slip through quality control is beyond me.

Me and my sister came up with a new one while we were watching it. "His crossbow is loaded............with symbolism"

the makers of this movie seem to have a thing for cutting throats, and predictable corny dialouge.

early on,
what came here looking like a sun,
but things covered itself in black,
when hours came on at,
the dark days continued on,
later on.

No, the best line is when Remar says in his harsh heavy voice:

- My Father never had sex with a Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

I was only intersted in this project cos of Remar. But, now I think I MUST get this. If only to hear Remar say "My father never had sex with a Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnn!" Just imagining him saying that is making me laugh.

"He's right, we're acting like f*gg*ts"

I'm not positive this is the correct film entitled "Blowback" (I have a suspicion it may have been the 1991 film with the same title), but I was led to this page due to my striking memory of the tagline I encountered when browsing at a West Coast Video some years ago.

The tagline? "They thought he was dead. They thought they were safe. They were wrong. Dead wrong!"

I bought this dvd for $2.50 over the weekend. Seriously the best $2.50 purchase I think I've ever made!

I just watched this on NetFlix's "play it now" feature for watching it while they stream it to your computer. Thank goodness I didn't rent it and waste the time of using up one of my rentals. For the record, the quality of the streaming video isn't bad at all and the stereo audio seems to come through pretty good also.

Back to the movie:
It is not really bad, just not very good. For one thing notice how many different ocassions and how many times one of the cops or the FBI agent had a clear shot and missed. Must have missed at least 20 shots. For cops they sure were bad shots. At one opportunity in the the alley he was beside one end of large dumpster and the shot hit the other end. Just pitiful!
