Liz and Max Explosive Chemistry

I thought Shiri Appleby and Jason Behr had incredible chemistry together, right up there with Ali and Noah from Notebook, or Romeo and Juliet 1968, or Bella and Edward Twilight.

reply

I definitely thought that they had amazing chemistry too. They were so comfortable with each other.

reply

I like there Chemistry.. it's amazing but I have the admit that Micheal and Maria have even more Chemistry.

reply

Agreed! Very good comparison with Noah and Ali too. Chemistry like that is very rare on the tube nowadays or on the big screen.

reply

I'm not overly-enjoying Michael and Maria yet. I'm just starting S2 and so maybe I'm not far enough yet but holy Michael is just such a jerk. I get he has his redeeming moments but for the most part he's quite childish and angry. Especially his conversations with Max/Isobel. I'm sure he will grow more. I do love Maria though.

EDIT*** I just finished S2 and I take back everything I said.... MICHAEL IS WONDERFUL!!

hmm, wonder how you will or do feel after the whole of season 3 Michael?, wont spoil in case you have not seen, but he did redeem himself after major ___ and over all and considering that they had to rush the ending, was at least an ending...someday if i can find someone who is great at editing, will have to publish my continued story(ies) as 1 is finished and another is in progress.

Live life to be alive...and may your day be well or find one thing that gives you that little extra, even just a 😄

reply

Meh. Liz always looked and acted like a twelve-year-old, so I found it difficult to believe any passion or chemistry from her side, but Jason did do a good job of making Max's love for her believable. Especially with his then-girlfriend Katherine Heigl stood right next to them for half of the snuggly/kissy scenes! Awkward!

The mirror... it's broken.
Yes, I know. I like it that way. Makes me look the way I feel.

reply

I liked the chemistry between Michael and Maria a lot better.

I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, I'm in the prime of my life.

reply

It's very rare to find two leads where their chemistry explodes off the
tube. I LOVED their chemistry together. Maria and Michael also had
chemistry, but the whole cast had chemistry also in differen ways:
Maria and her mom, Kyle and his dad, you believe they were their real
parents. Their interaction was genuine and real. Even with Maria and Liz.
Their friendship was so fresh and fun but also intensely loyal.
Having that in an entire cast is rare imho.

Not like I love you

reply

I agree. You get a great cast, who blend in together like they've been friends and family forever, and they can make gold out of coal dust.

Agree about the whole cast having nice chemistry

I liked M&M better than M&L though but liked the show couples as a whole even Jesse/Isabel dont bother me much.

reply

That chemistry stayed strong off-screen as well. There's an interview on the DVDs I think; where Bill Sadler mentions that less than a week after they first met, he helped Nick Wechsler to move house.

reply

It is. I remember that bonus interview.

I remember hearing or reading that when the "parents" were around that the "teen" cast on and off set that they acted like parents were around, so in a way making the "feel" of parent to child relationship seem more real.

😀 Did that make sense ? my brain is taking a "vay k" as worked it out too much and am re watching Roswell to give it a break and relax, maybe shouldnt be reading and or responding till it gets back 😳

reply

I don't feel anything between them, imo they are boring and dull together.

Ditto. I kind of skip their scenes. They're so dull. I like Maria and Michael better.

reply

Its funny though as Majandra said that as long as they did NOT have Maria and Michael as a couple, as she did not think it would be good or work.

Also find it interesting and well neat/fun/nice/human, that we can have and see different reactions to and likes/dislikes for the same show and still enjoy said show.

reply

😄

reply

I agree with you. Is Jason as bad an actor as he comes across with hang dog looks and poor posture? He really is ultimate wuss.

reply

I'm re-watching the show for the first time in about 3 years. Even now their chemistry is still amazing to me. It's off the charts. I think they're always going to be my favorite tv couple.

I know I'm a vampire, Snookie.

reply

I just started watching the show on Netflix about two weeks ago (obsessed!!), and that's the first thing I noticed as well. Especially the episode Sexual Healing - wowza. I really like them as a couple.

Have to agree Max/Liz chemistry is pretty Hot! One of my all time fav t.v. couples. Clark/Lana from Smallville being a close second.

reply

Agreed. Sadly in both shows the creative stuff avoided to take
advantage of that but went for teendrama 101 instead. Its pain-
ful to watch in both shows. Although it was far more extreme in
Smallville than in Roswell. However,it damaged the characters in
both shows.
Just as a honorable mention: the Jeremy/Anna couple had also very
good on screen chemistry in Vampire Diaries. In that show this
couple was utterly destroyed - twice.
