Compared with InAPPropriate Comedy?

I just watched The Underground Comedy Movie yesterday (hey, NetFlix made it available for Streaming, so that was nice), after having watched InAPPropriate Comedy in the theater. I can't say that I cared for InAPPropriate Comedy, and The Underground Comedy Movie (TUCM from now on) did a lot right that InAPPropriate Comedy (IC from now on) screwed up in the process. IC seems to drag on, showcasing a joke again and again until no longer either funny or shocking, it's boring. This is hit or miss for Saturday Night Live, but TUCM does a great job of showing a joke a few times, fairly briefly, and then moving on to the next joke. "Sushi Mama" is a perfect example from both films; in IC, the skit is overlong, beyond what's funny. In TUCM, however, it runs just long enough so that it's still funny. Especially for a movie with such a low budget, TUCM did a great job with comic timing, and even seemed to be less reverent of social mores than its sequel/remake.

The nudity in TUCM was kind of a bonus, too, that oddly was removed when IC was made. Not that it's vital to the flick, but in a celebration of gross-out jokes and general vulgarity, the lack of nudity in IC was perplexing. In TUCM it was amusing, and self-mockingly irrelevant to the plot.

What did you think, now that both movies are out?

I think they're on the same level (0/10).
