A worthwhile heroin at last.

After all the 'over the top' comment on the virtues of the main character in "Their Eyes were Watching God" it was refreshing to see a woman who, while being human and making a naive and grave mistake in life grew into a woman of strong character and principle. Prepared to fight injustice at her own peril and to maintain real friendship in the face of criticism she is, in some ways a real role model.

Unable to lose sight of her first and only love, or disillusioned (or whatever the reason for her celibate life) she determined still to make something of it, being inspired by her late closest friend. And what an interesting and lovely old lady she became!

And wasn't it refreshing to see how her great nephew (or would that be 'nephew once-removed'? ;-)) loved and respected her?

Well done Hollywood - more of this quality genre please.

Out of respect for the teachers in the story....note the spelling of heroine. Don't know of any truly worthwhile heroin. In total agreement with the movie review.
