An inspiration.

I watched this when it first aired on BBC TV about 10-12 years ago (i think) due to an early interest in Herzog and Kinski stuff, most of which I found they did together. I was fascinated by this story that existed in the cinema world and it opened my eyes at an early age as to the potential power cinema can produce.
Having recently revisited I find My Best Fiend to be one of the most inspirational doc (and to me - any artform) I have seen (another example for me was Filth and the Fury of Rotten quitting the band onstage in just complete honesty). I have subsequently found Herzogs films and particualary his docs to be of great interest and inspiration. My Best Fiend will exhilarate anyone in an interest in the protagonists, the films, cinema itself and to witness the final scene with Herzogs (always gripping) voice over narrating footage of Kinski, seemingly calm shortly before his death, handling a butterfly is breath taking. As Herzog claims in his somewhat disappointing but still of interest, Grizzly Man, - "sometimes cinema can accidentally expose the true greatness of nature"
