Should I watch this before seeing any other Herzog / Kinski films?

Hey all

I picked up a Herzog / Kinski DVD box set for a bargain price recently. It contains all 5 of the films they made together plus this documentary. Was wondering which film I should watch first?

I loved Grizzly Man and Encounters at the End of The World, so was thinking the documentary might be the best place to start for an overview. But all suggestions welcome!

I would say definitely watch this documentary first. So far I've only seen Nosferatu and Aguirre, and I only had a passing interest in the other Kinski/Herzog films. But after watching My Best Fiend I have gained a greater appreciation for both artists, and am VERY interested in watching their other collaborations. It's an extremely wonderful documentary and not at all difficult to follow if you haven't seen the films, as lots of clips are shown as well as behind the scenes footage.

I'd probably watch at least Aguirre first, and then maybe Fitzcarraldo too. My Best Fiend gives away some of those movies, so you might want to watch them first. Also, you will have more real understanding of the kind of actor Kinski is before you watch the documentary as well.

Yeah watch at least "Aguirre" before you watch "Mein liebster Feind".

I for myself always show it after the movies itself.

In "Mein liebster Feind" appears the endings of "Aguirre", "Cobra Verde" and "Nosferatu".
