Just watched again for first time since it came on.

Was scary still and very well put together indeed.

I'm really annoyed that i missed it - i was 12 at the time and i remember everyone talking about it at school - my best friend watched it and said it was the scariest thing he's ever seen.

I'm going to buy it in time for Halloween this year i think ...

its july 2007 now.

did you buy ghostwatch in time for halloween 2006? The problem is that kids back then didnt see bad acting and belived what they were told by the TV. shame, was a once in a lifetime experience. had to be there at the time as a kid.

I soooo need to see this film. I'd have been 7 at the time it was broadcast, and not sure why I didn't see it. Maybe I did, but forgot about it, although, considering some people's accounts on ths board, this seems unlikely!

To anyone who has the DVD...isn't there meant to be something creepy about the main title menu? I can't remember where I read it, but I think perhaps Pipes appears after a while, or something to that effect.

People tend to point to it having bad acting but it was still convincing enough when it was first broadcast to cause national hysteria. Kids watching it today still wouldn't get that it is not real and would be unnerved as I was watching it back in '92.

i just watched this for the first time ever (its July 2010 BTW!) i would have been 8 when it was on tv, and don't think my mom let me watch it! i saw it mnentioned on 100 scariest moments, and being a massive horror film fan thought i'd watch this for the laughs...i figured it would be pretty cheesy! i was massively impressed! yes its cheesy at times, and the acting is pretty awful (i suppose coz most of them aren't actors - although i'm sure i've seen the parapsychologist in something!) and i am kind of shocked that people believed it was real - although if parky says so it must be true!! i am not easily scared, and without giving anything away, there were a couple of moments that got me!! gotta be one of the best horror films of the 90's - and maybe the best movie of its type (where it pretends to be real) definately creeped me out more than blair witch!! i really hope the BBC show it again so more people can get to see this hidden gem!!

The parapsychologist ended up as the headteacher in Channel 4's 'Teachers'. Watching GW again, I'm struck by how effective the simple effects are e.g. the correct date/time on the cameras, the video analysis etc. And it still makes me jump towards the end when they're showing one of the interviews with a member of the public talking about an innoccuous ghost story and the picture & sound become distorted.
