Computer in Earlys' living room

I first thought it was an Amiga 500, but it wasn't, but after going through the Old Computers website I tracked it down:

It's not an Amiga, but it's a 1983 Commodore model, very old considering when GW is set (1992).

Seemed like a strange thing for whoever was in charge of props to put in there. A bit like if they did it now and had a Playstation one in there.

I watched this with a friend this week, and he could actually name the model of the monitor in the kitchen and the reel-to-reel tape recorder in the studio! Now that's a geek!

the C64 was a very nifty bit of kit used quite late into the 90's depsite being woefully outdated.

reply

it was easily recognisable as a C64, anyone whose owned one of the old style ones would recognise it.

I did ;-)

if you think about it, she was a single mother with 2 kids. she would've struggled to afford a sega or nintendo

reply

If this was set when the C64 was popular neither of those brands would have created a games system by then. sega were still only making games & nintendo were only making playing cards & game watches.

I still used my C64 in 1992; I wrote all my high school papers and college entrance essays on it. Almost no one got online from home then, so why have a new computer when they were so expensive.
