At the New york New york hotel. It's situated when you come in from the Excalibur walkway.

I don't know about the Coyote Ugly in Vegas, but the one in the movie looked like the most miserable bar experience possible.

There's nowhere to sit and relax and no way to carry on a conversation, which obviously isn't the place's focus. But then there's no room to dance or otherwise have a good time while moving around. All that leaves is the freak show at the bar.

After the novelty of the freak show wears off (give that half an hour -- 45 minutes if you're slow on the uptake) your only possible reprieve is to drink. But if the wait staff spends half their time performing the freak show, your wait will be twice as long, and the drink selection is critically limited anyway.

In short, once you'd gotten your eyeful of T&A, the place would have nothing going for it.

Yeah I'm completely with Boxoffice on this. I just saw this movie for the first time today and besides that fact that it sucked I was blown away at how ridiculous and terrible that bar would be.

Aside from the fact that it would way too crowded to have a good time in, imagine how damn long it would take just to get one drink with the girls dancing on top of the bar, singing, and pretty much stripping for people. Also you have nothing but loud drunk men ready to grope the first woman they see because of the girls striptease, the music would be too loud and overbearing, and I'm sure it would be hot as hell in there.

It just seems like a terrible bar and I'm glad I've never bumped into one.

RIP Paul Newman 1925-2008. Words can't express how much you will be missed.

I've been to a Coyote Ugly bar and it was quite possibly one of the funnest nights out I've had, and it was pretty much exactly like the movie. Except this bar challenged girls to be "Coyote's" themselves by challenging them to take the bar. Aaaaand that's how I won this free bottle of champagne.

Legen... wait for it.. DARY!

Bars and clubs don't care if you can talk or dance. They just want you to buy alcohol. That's why the music is always crazy loud so that's all you can do is stand there and drink. And since you can't dance all the time then that's what you do. If you want to relax then go to a diner that serves beer as well.

Yeah, at the moment there are 12 Coyote Ugly bars across the U.S. (Oklahoma City opens next Wednesday 24/06/09)

The original bar in New York was opened in 1993 by (yep, the same one as portrayed in the film) Lil Lovell, then after the film opened in 2000 further franchaises opened.

Bars are in New Orleans (where Lil now lives), Las Vegas, Nashville, Memphis, Denver, Austin, San Antonio, Panama City FL, Tampa & Fort Lauderdale

Type coyoteuglysaloon into Google and you'll get taken to the bar homepage.

If you want the full 'movie experience' you're better off on a Friday or Saturday night when the bars are packed. Go on a Wednesday afternoon, don't be surprised to find a dozen locals shooting the breeze with the (still gorgeous) Coyote.

The Coyote Ugly bars are just like in the movies (but less crowded). Standing room only and the main attraction is the ladies on the bar. I went to the one in Vegas a couple of times, mainly because the beer was cheaper there than in any of the other bars on the strip. Had a few, watched a few girls dance, and headed off for greener pastures. Must say I didn't see Tyra Banks or Bridget Moynahans dancing on the bar though.

I don't have an opinion. The word "opinion" implies the possibility I'm wrong.

I went to the one in Fort Lauderdale when I lived down there. It was a weeknight and only had about 15-20 people in there. There were small tables around plus some bar stools at the bar. The girls were good looking, and were encouraging everyone to do shots, but I declined because I'd ridden my harley there and I know me...once I start doing shots, I don't finish until the bottle (or bottles) is done.

There is a fairly new bar in St Louis called Bangers, which is like CU, but the girls are called "Banger Sisters". (I haven't seen that movie, so I don't know the story/reference behind it.)

The girls do use nicknames instead of their real names, and from what I've seen, they could give these movie girls a run for their money.

and from what I gather, like someone else said, the place is only packed on the weekends,as a friend works there Fri-Sun and has a completely different job during the week. (and a third gig on occasion that is just as different, but may pay off BIG later.)

Something different. Coyote bars are very popular in Thailand, as they give good looking ladies an opportunity to dance in public without having to take off their clothes. A nice change from the nudity bars we all know about. Bangkok and Pattaya are full of Coyote bars, but you'll also find them in smaller towns such as Korat.

I'm sure you meant this but I want to clarify for those who actually want the "Coyote Ugly" bar itself, not just a bar with that concept....there are no "Coyote Ugly" bars in Thailand....the only countries besides the US that have the real deal are Russia and Germany. Like I said, you probably were referring to bars that have the same concept as CU (as the original poster asked) but some might think you were saying these are the real deal....

I went to Coyote Ugly up in Vegas for my birthday. It was so much fun!

These bars were made for women, so that's probably why I enjoyed it so much. All my drinks were free and I got to dance with awesome gorgeous chicks!

There is a bar like Coyote Ugly in Gatlinburg TN. It is smaller than the bar in the movie and some waitresses dance while others take drink orders and they switch out so you dont have problems getting a drink. They also ring a big cow bell in the corner of the bar and all the waitresses take a break and people in the bar get up and dance on the bar. Its a pretty fun time. I'm not the wild type at all but I danced on the bar for a few songs and it was fun...it makes it easier that it seems like every girl in the bar is waiting for the cow bell to ring so they can dance on the bar so there is never a time you would be up there by yourself. It was a fun time. Its not something I would do very often but it was a nice change from the usual bar scene.

I've been to Coyote Ugly in Tampa, Austin, and San Antonio. I live in Denver, but haven't been to it yet. The ones I went to were a lot bigger than the movie bar. Plenty of bar for people to sit at and girls to dance on.

there is one in Oklahoma City. Me and my wife went there "for a beer" and ended up staying for almost 4 hours. Great place.
