Any guys actually enjoy this film?

This is yet another one i was made to sit through with my girlfriend, i was all set for a night of unchartered boredom, and was thinkin of excuses to get out of dodge about half hour in, gotta admit though, although i'll never tell her this, but i actually really liked it!

probably something to do with seeing Piper Perabo girrating on a bar, A room with two of mans greatest interests...Booze, and some of the fittest women in existence pouring the booze, it'slike the dream! you add the FA cup final and you've got a masterpiece!

It doesn't merit to be called a film. It's not even a movie.

reply

I've watched both. And I like them both as well.

so If this is such a cheesy bad movie, why do u find urself on this page giving ur opinions about it, If I dont like a movie I dont go to Imdb to look for the movie and the characters

reply

This board's name is "Any GUY actually enjoy this film?". So, following your logic, I should ask why are you on this page. Anyway this movie sucked big time. Don't watch this movie!!!

reply

Disliked it. I've never caught it all the way through beginning to end, but man. Whenever I catch parts of it, it feels like an S.N.L. skit making FUN of movies. Like, it reminds me of dangerous minds, only not. It makes me want to go out and make a movie called EXPO about a new exporter at a restaraunt who has to change the cooks' minds about him. GAG

This movie is pretty good...I've always liked it. Especially all the dancing scenes. My favorite character is Cammie. I'd gladly give her a week's pay to grind like that for me all night!!

southern_girl20 apparently doesn't quite understand how message boards work, and asks this:

"so If this is such a cheesy bad movie, why do u find urself on this page giving ur opinions about it, If I dont like a movie I dont go to Imdb to look for the movie and the characters"

Uh-huh. So each message board for each movie, tv show and so forth om IMDB should only be for fans and sycophants? People ARE allowed to both dislike a work and then post about it. Now yes, some people do just troll here by saying a film or show sucks, but not everyone who says that is a troll. WHY do you read message boards if you can't handle that someone might post an opinion that differs from yours? Or that might say something you like is something they don't?

My personal opinion, it's not a great film but it's not awful. It's kind of a chick flick disguised as a T&A film. Did I see it in the theatre? No. I might catch some of it if it's on TV, but I might skip it also. Otherwise, it's not great, not terrible.

its almost the best film ive been seeing in a long time sooo

reply

I watched it for the first time last night. Well, let's just say I watched as much as I could stomach. My expectations were really low and it was worse than I thought it would be. Bandit On the Loose nailed it in saying this garbage doesn't merit to be called a film or a movie.
It was absolutely horrendous and as cheesy as Breakin and some other early 80s flicks yet without the charm. The cast lacked charisma. Much of this was just borrowed from earlier films like Cocktail. I can't imagine going to the theater and sitting through this mess.

reply

I really liked this film!!!
Has to be one of the best i've ever watched!

reply

Was a great movie about someone overcoming one of her greatest fears. 99.9999999% of the people that have a challenge before then, such as stagefright, would not perservere. They would quit. It's interesting and a good message that states you can achieve your dreams if you don't give up regardless of your personal fears.

And for the cast, can't think of a movie that had a better looking cast ever.

reply

Hey it wasn't that bad... I am a person who finds really hard to love a movie, and i'm pretty uptight about this topic.

Well, i can say that the acting wasn't that bad (it was above average than most of this kind of movies), the music is quite good, and well the plot is basically stupid, but at the end i liked it.

this movie has NOTHING to do with my preferences in films, but it's still enjoyable.

For people who like stupid movies this should be a gem... or something.

I enjoyed it , and enjoyed going to the bar itself in Nashville Tn.

reply

The Movie was bad... It was corny and they talked *beep* about beer. I hate it and every person involved in the film.

Meh...It was okay. Only one of those movies I can sit through once.

A Flashdance for the Noughties...was enjoyable fluff

reply

Dunno. I mean, Flashdance was pretty Noughty.

Any man who doesn't enjoy watching this movie (I'm not saying the movie is great) is probably gay. Wet hot chicks dancing on a bar!!!

reply

I'm a very straight man. As a movie, this was a nonentity. As a movie about a bar, this was a fantasy. There were so many safety violations in the place that the ABC (Alchol and Beverage Commission) would have shut it down after 10 minutes' operation. This is a 13 year-old boy's idea of a US bar/club. I don't know about regulations in other countries. The dance scenes were fun. Maria Bello, Izabella Miko and Bridget Moynihan were HOT, and I was very impressed with Moynahan's physicality. Piper Perabo, conversely, had the charisma of a blow-up doll. I can only assume that sexual favors were involved in her casting, but I've no idea why a guy would want to do her. So, this man enjoyed some scenes, but not the whole music video laughingly called a movie.

PS While I agree with the comment made by another poster on this topic that Coyote Ugly is, at best, "inspired by" Flashdance, or, probably more accurately put, a plagiarism of Flashdance, Flashdance had 'WAY better music that has stood the test of time far better than Coyote Ugly's disposable sound track.

reply

I've no idea why a guy would want to do her.

I can give you 100 reasons. Starting with killer body!

reply

This film is actually one of my so called "guilty pleasure" movies. I admit it!
Its kind of cheesy but it makes you feel good.
And it has Piper Perabo in it, a really beautiful and talented actress.
