oogily,oogily,oogily,oogily,oogily,oogily,...fun,fun,fun
Who performed that song ? Where did it come from ?

Hey Looser9,
I've been trying to find this song as well and decided to have a look here. The artist, Gwendolyn Sanford is listed in the extended credits for the film here on the site. I'm going to have a friend try and find it on the web - if I can get an mp3 would you want a copy?

Freedom of the Heart

You guys must be kidding. That is the most annoying song. It didn't help they played it about six times during the movie, and on the DVD menu. However I doubt you're going to find it doing a search on "oogily," because it sure sounds like she's singing "oodly," and I don't think that's the name of the song anyway.

Oh my god....I was ready to SLIT MY WRISTS or THROW THE TV OUT THE WINDOW whenever that song came on. Single most annoying song I've ever heard in film. As pointless as that Crimson and Clover, over and over....song. Even more annoying than that cat-on-the-piano thing they kept playing in Eyes Wide Shut!

That song wasn't so bad, but it did start to get on my nerves after a while.

it suits the movie well, that tune... and even if it's a cheap one (i mean the budget was low it seems), i've watched the movie till the end... quite good actually... the actors are great.

The song fit this film perfectly! I can see, however, how it could get on the nerves of some people (and the thought makes me Laugh Out Loud!) but not mine!
Great song, great film!

Gwendolyn AND Gwendolyn and the Good Time Band. Very L.A. To boot, she won Best Artist in the LA Weekly's awards for music, 2003. She hosted a Sunday evening shindig at a bar on Sta. Monica Blvd called the Parlour Club. Her significant other is Brandon Jay - Quazar of Quazar and the Bamboozled - Lutefisk - and another 2003 Music Awardee for his work with The 88 --- worth a listen.
Gwen does a mean children's party, or so I'm told.
I've listened to them all practice for years... they never cease to amuse me
proximity!
Several things available on CD. Amazingly sincere kids.

I just ordered the cd from Amazon for that song. Since it's a kid's cd and I'm 45, I probably won't get into the rest, but that song is so cool, it makes me feel like a kid. I'm sure I'll drive everyone crazy at our next party with it. By the way, this is such an excellent film.

You can download the album (or just the song)from iTunes, also.

Just ordered Gwendolyn's album featuring 'Freedom of the Heart' on Amazon. I think the song is absolutely beautiful and what a delightful voice she has. It really captures the sense of childlike wonder that is Buck O'Brien's world.

Mike White wanted to use Marlo Thomas's "Free to Be You and Me". He says on the commentary she watched the movie, and didn't like the portrayal of Chuck's wife. So for either that reason or for budgetary reasons, he comissioned a song that was similar. Here is the original Free to Be song.
