Martine Love vs. Terry's wife ...

I didn't really get that last conversation they had.

Terry's wife was basically giving Martine the stink eye at Eddie's memorial party, Martine went over to sort of apologize for having an affair with Terry, and then she said that.... she wanted to run off with Terry, but he chose his wife over her?

Was that the gist of it?

I feel like I'm missing something subtle in that exchange, and the one that follows between Martine and Terry. Like that Terry's still in love with Martine - even though he chose his wife over her - and would have run off with her if he could.

Also, I think his wife forgave him far too easily. What a cheating wanker.

That part is probably the low point of the movie. I think it was just thrown in because movies these days always have to include a "love interest".

I gave it no more thought than that and to be honest, that was all I felt it deserved. I think the reason you're missing something subtle is because there's nothing there.

maybe wrong but did they share anything more than a kiss? Also at Dave's memorial it was Martine who told Terry that she was in love with him 'you've always been the one' or something like that. Terry never really showed that he preferred Martine over his wife though he obviously liked her and found her attractive.

Yeah, Martine and Terry definitely had sex in the vault. There was a pretty explicit love scene that you can see in the deleted scenes.

And that's really all there is to it. Nothing subtle and a low point in the movie.

Terry just boinked her- there were no feelings (lust only). He obviously loved his wife (but he was a cheating wanker)
