Father Abbott = Dumbledore (mentor figure)
Methusela = Sirius (godfather figure)
Constance = McGonagall (BAMF heroine)
Cornflower = Ginny (love interest/damsel in distress)
Asmodeus = Nagini/Basilisk (snake antagonist, all three killed by sword)
Basil = Fred and George (comic relief)
Chickenhound = Malfoy (young man on the road to a life of crime)
Martin the Warrior = Harry's parents (character who is dead before the story begins that the protagonist looks up to)
