Boss Kanbei
Did Boss Kanbei ever get killed? Zatoichi slaughters like 30 of his guys than gets busy fighting his brother.
sharespoiler...i guess he did kill Kambei based on things said in zatoichi 3. DOnt remember ever seeing it on part 2 though.

Zatoichi grabs Sukegoro by the throat, Kanbei is standing very close behind on the left (facing away from us). A man rushes Zatoichi from behind right so he releases Sukegoro and quicky turns around to face his attacker, drawing his sword as he turns he slashes first at Kanbie (Kanbie staggers off screen to the left) and then finishes with a higher flourish at Sukegoro.
It's very easily missed, it all happens in a sudden moment. It doesn't help that when sliced Kanbie is half obscured by a wooded post in the foreground and isn't shown to be dead or dying, he just exits to the left.
