I think Vinick was the better candidate

I am nearly through with season 6 and Vinick just won the Republican nomination. I don't know if they unearth some deep dark secret in the 7th season, but as far as I can tell, he is the most bipartisan politician in this entire show. He is what being a republican is supposed to be about (not talking about each of his positions on each of the issues, but his overall demeanor). I prefer him even to President Bartlett. He has tact and candor and he cares deeply about the American people, not just winning, or beating the democrats. He has far more experience than Santos and he infuses realism and wisdom into his idealistic view of politics. I know he doesn't win, but at this point in the election, I think he should.

I heard originally he was going to win, but with the death of John Spencer, they felt it was to much for the to have a loss. Ultimately the series ended anyway

I personally liked Vinick and would have voted for him, but then again I'm basically that kind of conservative.

It would have been a surprise had he won, but also realistic given how Santos was a less mainstream candidate and it's really hard for one party to win three terms in a row.

I choose any of these actors over trump though.

You could pick some random dude from the phonebook and he'd be better than Trump.
