Original frame rate, NTSC version pitch

I was watching the BBC version of Scum when I noticed something odd. I heard the song "Itchycoo Park" by The Small Faces in the background, but the pitch was too low. And it got me instantly wondering. Was this film shot at 25 fps and then slowed down without pitch correction for the NTSC DVD? I can't seem to find any information regarding this, though since it was shot for the BBC, I have hunches.

Yeah, this would have been shot PAL broadcast, at a guess. It would make sense, given the medium of the day (no digital to fluff things up for you then!).

Seems a bit strange how they never performed a pitch correction for the DVD, though, unless they couldn't be nothered and took it for granted that no-one would notice.
