Scum 77 and Scum 79

I was wondering if anyone had seen both versions and if there were any diffrences between the two.

David Threlfall played Archer and he totally got his arse kicked by Mick Ford.
A different actor played Davis and he was OK in the role, not as good as Julian Firth. He succeeded in creating sympathy for the character but he couldn't play emotion very well. Also,I thought he was too tall for the role.
In the film Davis was short and small which made him an obvious target. Here Davis is taller than some of the guys who bully him.
Baldy has hair in this version which makes his name something of a mystery. Toyne doesn't kill himself and there's an awful song playing at the end

A special edition DVD is released in June, which contains both versions.

All the scenes that would have been amazing in the 77 version are ruined because the 79 version did them so much better.

Its because the film version became so well known being available underground in the early days of VHS, then shown a few times on Channel 4.

The BBC version has only been shown once.

Its that man again!!
