Any clue when this movie will come out on dvd in the U.S.

I really don´t know. It has been even difficould to find an english subtitled version in Bruxelles!!!

Don't know of any plans on a US DVD release, but you can find a Taiwanese release on DVD (region free) with English and Chinese subtitles if you search around ebay or other places.

The Taiwan DVD is a knock-off of the Artificial Eye version -- but-- the subtitles are not in sync with the dialog and the only extra (despite what is on the cover) is the Cannes ceremony (which is not subtitled). It claims to have both French and Spanish tracks, but only has the French. There are better versions available.

And it is not region free.

I don't know for the US, but it has been released in the UK.
You can get it from amazon (uk) in a 2 disc set including La Promesse

If you have a cable or satellite package with multiple HBOs they play it on HBO Signature from time to time. (Last night for example).

And Dish is showing it on Sundance tomorrow at 10am (PST) and probably again and again as they all do, now.
