Youth poverty

I'm a social scientist and I often hear discussions about young people living in poverty or being unemployed. I have mostly been dismissive about these talks thinking along the lines of: why are they worrying about these youngsters, what are these youths complaining about, its not like there's anything terribly wrong with them, after all, they are young, there's hope for them. This film showed the real depressive face of youth poverty. I bet there are numerous young people who live in such conditions in western countries. And by conditions I don't mean so much a trailer park and cold room, as having to live with alcoholic parents and needing a job to keep alive. The girl desperately clutching to her employer's sugar sack when being fired was the most heart wrenching scene in this film for me.
