Bev and Fay= Laverne and Shirley

Did Beverly and Fay's friendship remind anyone else of Laverne and Shirley (Bev being Laverne and Day being Shirley), especially since that was the sitcom that Penny Marshall was famous for.
Likewise Ray and Lizard were a lot like a much sleazier of Lenny and Squiggy, who often seemed to cause trouble in the girls' lives.
