It's weird...lol in the movie she is a tomboy so I am assuming she never had her FIRST REAL kiss or real boyfriend. So all of a sudden she is losing it to her childhood friend when they aren't even dating yet. I don't know, lol...it's just kinda funny to think how she just skipped ALL those "steps" ya know?

First of all, I didn't see Monica having "mind-blowing sex" in this scene...it was obviously painful, to the point that Q asked if he should stop. She said no, not because it didn't hurt, but because she was determined to go through with it. And as to your assertion that "you never actually get to have sex" if it's the girl's first time, you can only speak for yourself and your experience. Plenty of girls do go through with intercourse the first time - not saying it feels great the first time, but then they didn't depict it as feeling great for Monica either. A lot of girls grit their teeth (metaphorically speaking) and get through it, just like Monica did.

Well, like someone else mentioned, she did know Q for a long time already so they had the history together.
Another thing, if you paid attention you noticed while at the dance, Monica kept glancing at Q and his date. To me, that meant she was thinking of Q. She looked a little upset to me, which gave me the idea that she was probably a little jealous and sad and she wanted Q.
In the years they didn't show, before they cut to Monica and Q's senior year, Monica probably had a crush on Q and it came back. (lol, I know that sounds random, but who knows?)
Also, she looked a little annoyed to be with her date (played by Boris Kodjoe) when she first entered the dance.
What girl wouldn't want to be with BORIS KODJOE?! LOL
