One of the best love story endings EVER!

Well maybe not EVER but it WAS an amazing ending. When he calls to her and says "Double or nothing" ahh I get goose bumps and my heart just melted. No matter what he wanted to be with her after everything he loved her and needed her just like she needed him. Then cut to her playing pro-ball with McCall-Wright on her jersey and her beautiful husband and daughter in the audience cheering her on.

"I'm not crazy M'Lynn, I've just been in a very bad mood for forty years"

eh...i'd have to disagree. i found that to be quite cheesy & very typical of a romantic/love story movie.

LABb couldn't have ended any other way than it did. In the end Monica didn't have Q, and she was about to quit basketball - the two things she loved most in life would have been gone. That would have been a sad ending. Not every movie needs a happy ending, but this movie had to. When they showed Monica at the end playing ball with Quincy and their daughter cheering her on - how could you not love that?!

Even now I still get nervous watching them play for Q's heart like he isn't going to call her back to him. Great movie. 1990-2000 was the decade that produced the best in black cinema. Now the movies have no heart, especially because people think of Tyler Perry when the topic comes up.

I agree, love stories should have happy endings.

If we can save humanity, we become the caretakers of the world

Agree " Double or nothing" makes my heart melt as well I love that scene.

So true. Its unrealistic enough for a movie, but real enough to relate. I was a tomboy with crushes. I experienced most of the childhood part of this. As an adult I can only hope to find a guy like that. Yeah mistakes were made, but in the end he cared so much for her.

Also I love how their relationship revolves around a sport, but its not corny. I don't play sports anymore, but its a nice relationship.
