What do you think happened to Masao as he grew up?

Obviously at the end of the movie he was in high spirits as despite learning the truth about his mother, he still found companionship in his life and a parental figure in Kikujiro. However, what I'm wondering is whether he would have later on had difficulties coming to terms with the truth about his mother when he returned to his grandmother, perhaps fluctuating between acceptance and yearning.

Do you also think that later on in life he would have wanted to make contact with his mother and siblings or he would have completely moved on?

I think that Masso had completely moved on from his mother. Although it may had been hard for him I think he eventually did and ended up seeing the Kikujiro more in the future since he now had a parental figure in his life besides his grandmother.

But do you think that at such a young age, he may have changed his mind later on? (especially when he reached his adolescence when he would have experienced all kinds of changes)
