on the trivia it says that Nicole Kidman was originally cast as Frannie Thorstin.
i think she was involved in the production as well.
in anyway i loved meg ryan in this

Yes! Took us quite some minutes to realize that it was actually Meg Ryan and not Nicole Kidman! Maybe it is really the same person!! Have they ever been seen together? Maybe Meg Ryan invented Nicole Kidman to be able to work more with-out having the union come after her???!! :o)

Check out the 2004 remake of 'The Stepford Wives'. For the first part of the movie Nicole has shorter, darker hair and she does look VERY like Meg Ryan in certain scenes.

Get a grip? Believe me, when contemplating Ms Ryan and Ms Kidman, I quite frequently DO...

I agree. I don't think they could even pass as sisters. Unless, of course, you think all white females look the same.
Who was it that played the male lead? Was it Danny Devito or Mark Ruffalo? They look so much alike I can't tell them apart! LOL

If you check the credits you'll find that Nicole Kidman is listed as one of the producers of 'In The Cut'.

Geez! I was thinking the same thing! No wonder I thought half the time Meg Ryan reminded me of Nicole Kidman in this movie! Interesting. I think Nicole would've done just as great as Meg in the role Frannie.

I know I know!! This fact actually, for me, was distracting and weird, because it seemed as tho she was obviously trying to look and sound and BE like her lol. I read in the trivia notes that this part was offered to Nicole but she was going thru her divorce and turned it down. So... what, the Director pulled Meg aside and said..." ah...listen....I'm gonna need you to......" LMAO!!

I agree too. She doesn't really look or sound like her, but while watching this i did comment "she's very Nicole Kidman in this". Probably the style of acting. Not sure of Meg Ryan's range, but i wouldn't be surprised if she had used Nic's work as a basis for how she was going to act in this.
