Hammer film?

I am not sure what the plot of the movie is that I am looking for. I saw it on late night tv as a kid back in 1977. But it was in a gothic setting. To me the lead actor looked a lot like Maxwell Caulfield....but according to IMDB his first movie was in 1982. But there was music in the film that by looking on the internet I learned that it is titled The Hearse Song. I cannot remember for sure if the words were sung during the soundtrack but my friend's cousin, who we were watching this movie with, was singing the tune with the words...."The worms crawl in. The worms crawl out. In your stomach and out your mouth." This is a link to the tune:

Does anybody know what film this was or if it was a Hammer film? I have been racking my old brain trying to figure it out and what the plot of the movie was. I can't think of it to save my life.

Well I accidentally found what the movie was. I only saw it that one time on late night tv in 1977. The USA version is called The House That Screamed. It was made in Spain with the original title being La Residencia. It is NOT a Hammer film. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064888/

The actor that I thought resembled Maxwell Caulfield is John Moulder-Brown, who is part of the cast of Vampire Circus.

I purchased a copy of The House That Screamed from Ebay. I watched it tonight. It did NOT have the music/song that I was remembering. I must have watched a double-feature the night I originally saw it and got the two movies mixed up.

Was it any good?

It might be Bert I. Gordon's "Picture Mommy Dead" from 1966. I seem to recall the girl in the film, played by Bert's daughter, Susan, sings that song throughout.
