Hoping for a DVD boxed set

I miss this show terribly, and it's one of the few I wish would come out on DVD. And surprisingly, last week while in New York, I was sitting in a Starbuck's when in walked Tuc Watkins (Malcolm)! I was across the street from the ABC studios where he's now returned to One Life to Live, and I wasn't going to let this chance slide by. He was very kind and appreciative, and when I asked him about the possibility of a B&C DVD set, he said there had been talk about it, but he said "something is holding it up" but he had no idea what that might be.

(And no, I wasn't stalking ABC stars by being in that Starbuck's -- generally hate the place -- but was killing time for my audition/test for Millionaire, for which Tuc wished me good luck.)

Buena Vista is releasing it in January 2006 for $59.99 retail.

No it's not. Not yet, anyway. The release was supposed to be Jan. 10, but it was delayed (along with the release of the final season of "Once and Again," which was supposed to be the same day. Yet, they're rushing out the first season of "Grey's Anatomy," a big nine episodes.) No new date was given for "B&C" (or "Once & Again," for that matter.) Try this:

I have the entire series on VCD, but the quality is so-so and I would love to have it on DVD. If it was available, I'd give it to people as presents. It was supposed to come out on DVD, but I don't know what happened.

Beggars and Choosers The first season was released in January of 06. I asked about it in Barnes and Noble yesterday (Dec. 30, 2006). They did not have it but it was released. I too would love a boxed set of the entire show. I have been hoping for this for years.

Are you sure? I cannot find a single word of confirmation that it is or has ever been on DVD. There's no sign of it on BarnesAndNoble.com. Amazon.com has two books by that title (one a sci-fi novel, the other a non-fiction about unplanned pregnancy), but nothing of the show. Even on Ebay, the closest thing to anything of this manner is sample collection videos submitted to the Emmy judges "for consideration in all Emmy catagories". No mention of a boxed set.

Even more damning, as soon as anything is released on DVD, downloads pop up on torrent share sites all over the internet. There are none (though there are torrents to download the sci-fi novel by the same title, as well as several songs by that name). This suggests that DVD-level footage of the show just doesn't exist yet.

I hope I'm wrong. Can you provide a source for online purchase?

I was told wrong. At Barnes and Noble they said it was made into DVD but not released. Showtime doesn't even have it on reruns.

Damn. How disappointing.

Well, if it's been made, hopefully it will be released eventually.

Any news on this yet? Anywhere else to find the show? Internationally like a European release of some sort etc.?
