You're only basing this on the bedroom scene with Lucys brother and even in that scene there was nothing "gay" going on. Adam was trying to help Lucys brother out with his girlfriend and was trying to cheer him up and encourage him by saying things to boost his spirits. It was only in the brothers head that the gay vibe came into play, and he was misreading the situation and later realized that himself.

Isn't it really obvious?? Adam has the ability to evolve his character in to exactly the person the people around him want to be. Therefore with the brother, who felt completely rejected and unloved and with a dying labido, Adam was making the David feel wanted and appreciated and sexy and sexed up. None of it was real for Adam.

He's a sociopathic chameleon. In fitting with his character, he probably wanted to manipulate both sexes.
