Dont Laugh! This show scared me!

Ok so I must have been 3-5 or so and enjoyed watching Mr.Dressup just like the rest of you, but there was one episode that made me go crying to mommmy. The details are fuzzy but anyways...

So I was watching by myself, eating animal crackers and I basically said something to the TV in response to whatever Mr.Dressup was doing. I think I must have said something like "Dont go outside" as Mr.D was searching for something or someone. IMMEDIATELY after I say "Dont go outside" (or equivalent) Mr.D turns directly to me and says "You should be quiet!" in a relatively stern tone.

My mouth dropped open for a second, and ran upstairs because I thought Mr.D was rude and that he COULD see and hear me, just like I could.

I am sure its not exactly how it happened but its the best I remember. I do know however that I am the only kid in the world to get scared by Mr.D. lol.

You must have been a talkative kid if a person on a tv told you to be quiet!

Namaste, and good luck.

I wasn't too big on Mr.Dressup as my older sibs, probably because I like Mr.Rogers more but for some reason I grew up thinking Mr.Dressup was actually an angry man, like he was short tempered or something. I'm not sure why! I think I may have had a dream when I was really little and he was yelling at the puppets or the kids if he had kids on his show, I can't remember.
Then around the age of 9 or 10 (I have to mention I grew out of thoes uneasy feelings about Mr.D) Dudley The Dragon and Mr.D came to my very small home town and performed a little concert for all the school kids and it was really cool even though I wasn't a huge fan of either show, no offence to the fans, and Mr.D just sat in a chair on stage more than happy to just sit, play his guitar and do the pupet voices.
But to this day I have no clue how I got that feeling the man was secretively angry.

I'm sure that this sort of thing happened to other kids.
