similar stuff?

So yeah, I watched Another State of Mind yesterday and I've seen some other Punk documentaries before but they weren't any kinda like this one. I mean...Another State of Mind is definitely the best I've ever seen so far.
So, any other recommendations? Please, no docs on UK Punk, cause I've seen way too many of that sh!t. I really mean docs on the LA and DC scene and stuff like that.

Have you already seen the first Decline of Western Civilization? It's a documentary about the LA punk scene in 1979/1980. Personally I like it much more than Another State of Mind. It covers Black Flag (pre-Henry Rollins, Ron Reyes was the singer at the time) Circle Jerks, Fear, a @#$%ing GREAT segment on the Germs showing Darby Crash in rare form, X... the DVD still isn't out yet, but if you can find it on VHS, it's worth it.

Yep, Decline of Western Civilization part 1 is the only thing that come close to Another State of Mind. Unfortuntately it's not available on DVD.

The 'Slog Movie' is worth picking up. Made in 1981 by Dave Markay (Sin 34), it features live tracks by Circle Jerks, Fear, TSOL, the Chiefs, Circle One, Black Flag etc and interviews with fans/scenesters. Sound and picture quality isn't great but it's still worth a watch. I prefer it to 'American Hardcore', personally.

Decline pt. 1 on DVD has been in the planning stage for ever.
About the only way you can come across it is via bootleg copy. An ex-drummer of mine had it on one time as we were rehearsing. I stopped playing when the movie hit the segment on X (the band). Didn't start playing again til it was over :D
